NM1701 - Introduction to Creating Performance

Students explore their potential for performance; the specifics of acting as a creative art form, familiarize and use appropriate language for acting while developing fundamental acting techniques. Students will develop a heightened physical and vocal awareness, discover and practise improvisation techniques and participate in a series of performance exercises in the exploration of the performer's creative and expressive potential. Students will be engaged in a series of exercises, improvisations and interactions with partners, learning the essential acting skills such as relaxation, attention and concentration, truth and belief creating ensemble live performance that scaffolds to include multi-media technology in performance.
