This subject examines the concept of globalisation and assesses its influence on the governance of business enterprises and nations. It examines the diverse nature of transnational capitalism issues relating to transnational corporations; international capital and product markets; regionalisation; global marketing; transnational organisations and operational arrangements; cross-cultural diversity and its management; managing across time and space.
Learning Outcomes
- understand the concept of globalisation in a historical and contemporary context;
- appreciate the complex interactions between enterprises and governments in a global economy;
- understand issues in managing transnational corporations including regionalisation, cultural diversity, time/space and global/local interfaces.
