This is a dynamic skills based subject with the primary objective being the development of effective ethical legal professionals who research, evaluate and apply underlying legal principles of health law. Topics include the regulation of health care in Australia; ethics and professionalism; confidentiality and ownership of medical records; consent to medical treatment; professional liability; abortion; reproductive technology; surrogacy; genetics; euthanasia; living will legislation; human tissue and organ transplantation; and complaints against health care professionals.
