The sequel to IT2201, tis subject aims to bring students to a point where they can communicate and understand Italian at an intermediate level. It completes the revision of grammatical areas introduced in first-year Italian, and continues to focus on the reading and appreciation of texts taken from contemporary Italian media.

Learning Outcomes

• a level of at least transactional proficiency (1+ on the ISLPR scale);
• to express in complete sentences thoughts and opinions on familiar topics, dreams and emotions;
• fluently to read and write simple continuous prose, and to begin to read complex texts, including literature;
• to become familiar with various aspects of Italian culture and literature, including a close knowledge of some significant texts.

Assumed Knowledge:	To undertake this subject, students must have successfully completed 12 credit points (four subjects) of level 1 study at tertiary level
