This subject combines grounding in empowerment and change theory with experiential learning through Family Well Being workshops. Drawing on an established program of empowerment research, it explores specifically what is meant by the concepts "empowerment" and "change", and how the two interrelate. The subject introduces the student to the theoretical underpinnings of the role of empowerment in enabling change, even in the most challenging and difficult situations.
