Available to Bachelor of Indigenous Studies students and other undergraduate students who are eligible to take a level 2 subject.

This subject examines varying levels and types of change over time and its impact on Indigenous peoples from a global perspective. The impact of change will be analysed in relation to meaning for traditions, culture and social organisation. Students will explore the meaning of globalisation, technology and economic development for Indigenous peoples. Case studies from different countries will be studied for contemporary issues in how Indigenous peoples are dealing with change. Students will be introduced to issues and ideas through on-line learning including the discussion board and email, digital medium and reading materials. Therefore it is essential to have access to the World Wide Web to complete this subject. Students who do not have access to emails should notify the Subject Coordinator.
