This subject provides an opportunity for registered health professionals to develop and formalise their teaching skills specifically related to consultation and communication skills between health professional and patient. The subject focuses on the use of experiential learning methods. It is available off-campus on a part-time basis in the mode of flexible delivery with some group work.
Learning Outcomes
- understand and outline of models of the consultation between health professional and patient;
- outline and facilitate experiential learning sessions for consultation/communication skills;
- discuss methods and be proficient in giving feedback;
- discuss methods of assessing consultation and communication skills;
- facilitate the development of learners' own consultation skills.
