This subject is intended to take beginners and near beginners in the French language to a level of proficiency where they may competently read and understand, and accurate write and speak, elementary French.
Learning Outcomes
- to take students to a level of formulaic proficiency (approximately 0+ on the ISLPR scale). Students will be able to give simple personal details (about where they live, their family and their studies), to perform tasks such as ordering in a cafe, asking for directions, booking into a hotel or catching a train, to read simple constructed texts and write simply in the present tense.
