Available to all students who possess an undergraduate degree in teaching (i.e. Bachelor of Education) or other relevant degree or diploma approved by the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Information Technology and the Faculty of Arts, Education and Social Sciences

This subject introduces contemporary approaches in education for sustainability with an emphasis on the school and community sector, though an exploration of business and industry sectors is also encouraged. Students will review policy, curriculum, pedagogy, research and implementation issues and be encouraged to link theoretical understandings with innovative ideas for education for sustainability practice in a range of settings. Lectures and tutorials are conducted online through Learn JCU. ED5911 is a Level 5 education subject and aims to consolidate student's own knowledge and understanding of socio-ecological systems and processes with a view to enhancing their capacity to educate for local, regional and global sustainability.
