Available only to students enrolled in the Master of Teaching.
The intern will engage with, and contribute to, processes for change and development within schools through participating in a negotiated project and class teaching. This will provide the opportunity for practice without appraisal and direct supervision, as well as to encourage beginning teachers to see their role in schools as more than classroom teaching. Action research will be the inquiry method within the intern project, and the intern will complete a range of activities to ensure the development of appropriate research skills.
Learning Outcomes
- develop collaborative relationships between prospective and experienced teachers;
- develop preservice teachers identity within a professional network;
- identify and access learning communities and professional networks;
- access educational research as a means of contributing educational change consistent with current employing authorities as school policies and procedures.
