This subject is part of the developmental curriculum for professional experience within the Master of Teaching program. Students will be allocated a school and attend for 25 allocated days, completing a range of activities to develop an understanding of the complexities of teachers roles and the changes that occur over the school semester. As a culminating experience, students will plan, teach and evaluate a full-time 3 (three) week block of teaching. In association with this teaching block, students will undertake a research project aimed at analyzing and evaluating their own growth in relation to professional standards.
Learning Outcomes
- plan, teach, evaluate a minimum 3 (three) week continuous full-time equivalent block across all KLAs in primary, and full-time equivalent across both curriculum areas and including junior and senior in secondary contexts;
- to develop collaborative ethical relationships with all partners in the professional context;
- use professional standards to critically assess professional growth and incipient teacher identity.
