Available only to students enrolled in Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary)[33506S or 33506]and Master of Teaching (Secondary)[34604B or 34604]. Subject commences 6 July.

This subject is designed to equip preservice teachers with the necessary knowledge and competencies to teach senior secondary curriculum areas (Years 10- 12). Teaching areas offered align with subjects in the senior schooling years. Preservice teachers will explore the nature and design of the syllabi in each of their areas and develop discipline specific short and long term planning strategies, teaching and assessment repertoires appropriate to the senior years. A core component of this subject will include government policies, frameworks and quality assurance mechanisms relating to senior schooling including those relevant to vocational education and training. This subject will also explore the choices and options available to students post-school and the significance and potential for partnerships with industry and community to support curriculum delivery.
