This subject deals with research and practices in curriculum and teaching relevant to the student's senior teaching area. Preservice teachers will explore the nature and design of the syllabi in each of their areas and develop discipline specific short and long term planning strategies, teaching and assessment repertoires appropriate to the senior years. A core component of this subject will include government policies, frameworks and quality assurance mechanisms relating to senior schooling including those relevant to vocational education and training. This subject will also explore the choices and options available to students post-school and the significance and potential for partnerships with industry and community to support curriculum delivery.
