This subject focuses on the presentation and analysis of fundamental algorithms and design principles which underlie communications protocols and their performance characteristics. Data security issues in networks, including algorithms and security protocols are presented. Students will be required to demonstrate mastery of the topics covered at a level appropriate for postgraduate studies, including analysis and design capability and reporting abilities.These are to be demonstrated in assignments specific to postgraduate students, additional to those required of the undergraduate subject on which this subject is piggybacked.
