This subject covers emerging technologies in the E-Business field. This includes topics such as Internetworking, IP addressing, network layer and transport layer protocols, sockets, domain name serving, applications layer protocols (SMTP, http, url, html) web browser and server technology, security and firewalls, scale and availability, web based databases, authentication, encryption and secure transfer, B2B architectures, case studies, business models.

Learning Outcomes

• understanding of the principles and practice of the topics covered, at a level appropriate for postgraduate studies, including analysis and design.

Assumed Knowledge:

Students enrolling in this subject should have successfully complete CP2001 or have acquired equivalent knowledge through other study or professional experience.
