This subject addresses the legal foundations of business. Focus will be on the nature, role and sources of law; the major legal systems of the world; the common law system; the laws regulating agreements, obligations and property; industrial and intellectual property; restrictive trade practices and fair trading; financial instruments and securities; technology transfers including licensing and franchising; legal process and alternative dispute resolution.
