This subject addresses project management from a management perspective. The subject deals with the basic nature of managing projects, the advantages and disadvantages of project management, and covers the problems of selecting projects, initiating them, operating and controlling them. The subject discusses the demands made on project managers and the nature of manager's interaction with stakeholders and the ethical issues faced by project managers. Further, the subject covers the issues associated with terminating a project.
Learning Outcomes
- Learn the key concepts, processes, and fundamentals used in project management;
- Develop and demonstrate an understanding of real applications of project management;
- Grasp the benefits and limitations of implementing project management theories in business;
- Gain experience in the use of software for project management; and apply project management techniques to real world problems.
