Adaptations to training. Training theories and principles. Methods used to develop strength, speed, power and endurance. Periodisation. Tapering and peaking. Implementation of strategies to prevent sports injury and overtraining. The design and implementation of training schedules for specific populations.
Learning Outcomes
- to understand the principles of periodisation training for sport performance;
- to describe the principles and practices of strength training and conditioning for sports performance;
- to understand procedures used in conditioning athletes.
