PS3105 - Physiotherapy Theory and Application 1 (Honours)

This subject is the first of two clinical practice subjects which are designed to set the foundation for learning experiences within health settings. This subject is made up of two 6 week placements in different discipline areas selected from the five mandatory placements of Acute Care, Neuro/Rehabilitation, Musculo-skeletal Physiotherapy, Rural and Electives. The total of 12 weeks of supervised clinical experience will be conducted in clinical settings in a range of public and private health care facilities throughout Queensland and interstate. Students will be required to engage in self-directed learning through the development of a log book relevant to their clinical experience, to critique their performance in all aspects of service delivery and display the proactive pursuit of professional development which is the cornerstone of a professional career as a Physiotherapist.

    Assessment:two clinical assessments each worth 42.5% (85%); assignments (15%); learning plan - pass/fail (%).
    Special Assessment Requirements:Students must submit Learning Plans for each of the two placements in order to be eligible to pass the subject. Students must pass both clinical assessments in order to pass the subject. Students must submit the written assignment for the first placement attended.
