This subject will provide students in the mental health nursing major with the opportunity to extend their knowledge of mental health issues and mental health nursing practice. The subject explores contemporary mental health issues including child and youth mental health, substance use and mental health, and homelessness and mental health, with an emphasis on prevention and early intervention. Students will also explore a range of therapeutic approaches used in mental health.
