Credit points: 03
Year: 2008

Administered by: School of Law Office

This subject will focus on equipping the student with the analytical and communication skills necessary to deal with particularly challenging and/or complex conflict situations. Students will undertake critical analysis of especially 'difficult' conflict situations in order to develop a deeper level of understanding of the processes of conflict management. It will also explore issues such as ethics, culture, power, violence and situations where conflict management approaches may need significant scrutiny, in order to determine their appropriateness. The workshop component of this subject provides an opportunity for students to engage in experiential learning activities which facilitate the development of practical skills in communication and conflict management.
