Principles of criminal responsibility; aims of the criminal law; criminal procedure including the classification of offences; jurisdiction; bail; summary proceedings; trial of indictable offences; appeals; defences; homicide; causation; partial defences; non fatal offences against the person and related defences.
Learning Outcomes
- attain familiarity with the offence of homicide and related defences;
- examine the basis of criminal responsibility;
- introduce the tools of analysis used in criminal law;
- teach the essentials of criminal procedure.
