This subject provides an introduction to the educational, cultural, gendered, and societal significance of current and future developments in information communication technologies. Students will be involved in the instructional design, creation, application, and evaluation of various multiliteracies. Teaching and learning theory and pedagogies underpinning eGames and simulations and consequent learning outcomes are identified. The social and psychological impact of information communication technologies and their connection with, and beyond education explored.
Learning Outcomes
- critical evaluation of the social and cognitive outcomes of various teaching and learning theories and pedagogies underpinning a range of information communication technologies;
- acquisition of diverse multiliteracies through creation of educational information communication technology products;
- critical evaluation of credibility, legality, and ethics of computer and information literacies;
- further enhancement of life long learning skills and strategies;
- critical evaluation of the social, cultural, economic, political, gender, disability, and psychological impact and issues relating to past, present, and future information communication technologies.
