An introduction to experimental and survey design and analysis. Topics include the principles of biological and agricultural sampling design, including hypothesis generation, data collection, manipulation and analysis, statistical methods used in biology and agriculture and the production of agricultural reports. Students will participate in BS2001 lectures and specially designed tutorials.
Learning Outcomes
- to develop the necessary computer skills for data management, analysis and graphical presentation;
- to develop skills in selecting and applying appropriate analytical methods to biological and agricultural data;
- to develop skills in the design, execution and reporting of biological and agricultural experiments and survey programs.
