Students will be taught more advanced skills in the visual arts area of painting. Emphasis will be on the exploration of traditional and contemporary approaches to visual art expression. Methodology appropriate to visual arts practice will be implemented. Students will be taught to apply professional standards of presentation.

    Assessment:two prescribed folios of paintings (40% each) (80%); visual diary (20%).
    Special Assessment Requirements:In order to establish the authenticity of work submitted for assessment, attendance at practical classes is compulsory. Rolls are kept and work submitted by students with an attendance of less than 80% will not be eligible for assessment unless prior approval has been obtained in writing from the lecturer.
