This subject introduces the complexities of contemporary hotel management. By analysing organisational structures and operational divisions, topics will focus on service, marketing and sales as well as human resource management aspects.
Learning Outcomes
- to be able to apply concepts from marketing, consumer behaviour, financial control and human resource management to hotel management;
- to enhance public speaking skills associated with the preparation and presentation of hotel management information;
- to have an understanding of core content areas central to hotel management including a) basic management structures and types of tourist accommodation b) organisational aspects of hotels c) operational divisions within hotels d) the role of the general manager.
