Review of normal and abnormal neurological development, physiology and biochemistry and the pathology of common neurological conditions and their modern management in neonatal settings.

Learning Outcomes

• to acquire the theoretical skills to manage these problems in the context of a modern Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit;
• to acquire the underpinning knowledge and skills to investigate and manage the common problems of neonatal neurological function;
• to develop an understanding of the embryology of the neurological system and associated abnormalities.
