This subject introduces the general principles of international public health and the concepts of disease prevention, health policy, advocacy, disease control, health education and promotion and health program evaluation. Specific epidemiological case studies will focus on international public health problems in the tropics and how different resources could be utilised, including information technologies. The contribution of public health to improving international health is emphasised.
