This subject will provide students with the opportunity to experience the various roles of exercise physiologists in clinical exercise physiology settings and will provide exposure to the roles of other team members in rehablitation processes, referral and communication pathways and medical record systems. Students will have opportunities to observe and work with health professionals during the design, implementation and evaluation phases of exercise programs, and to learn about equipment, facilities and program planning used in clinical exercise physiology.

Learning Outcomes

• develop proficiency in the analysis and conduct of professional practice in clinical exercise physiology;
• understand the professional obligations and implications of clinical exercise physiology practice including codes of conduct, ethical responsibilities, mentoring, responsible reporting, legal implications, interpersonal relationships, leadership, client privacy, client consent, confidentiality and referral;
• comlete a working portfolio based on their clinical experience.

Special Assessment Requirements:	This subject will be marked as a non-graded pass/fail. Students must satisfactorily complete: 117 hours of clinical placement related to musculoskeletal or cardiorespiratory/metabolic or neurological/neuromuscular conditions; on course assignment (case study); set clinical placement competency tasks; compilation of a working portfolio
