Enrolment in this subject is restricted to all students enrolled in the Bachelor of Speech Pathology

This subject will provide the theoretical foundation and professional skill base necessary for competent practice in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment/management of developmental language impairments in children and adolescents. Aetiological factors, and models and processes explaining normal lanaguage development, and impairment will be discussed. Implications across cultural contexts will be considered. Assessment and intervention methods will be described and demonstrated. The effectis of language impairments on activity and participation in educational and community contexts will be explored.
