Available to Bachelor of Photography students.

This subject extends students knowledge of the manipulative palette of Adobe Photoshop to professional photographic industry standards. Studies of immersive imaging and web design and content creation are also made. Through individual research students will gain an extended appreciation of many applications of digital imaging currently employed in professional photography.

Learning Outcomes

• Explore experimental combinations of conventional and digital technology in the quest for originality and creative excellence;
• Develop competency to a professional industry standard in the use of a variety of digital imaging and computer equipment;
• Improve competency in the use of Adobe Photoshop and other imaging applications with emphasis on managing digital workflows and operating in a colour managed digital environment;
• Through individual research extend the level of understanding of the principles and practices of digital imaging with particular reference to its practical applications in professional photography;
• Develop skills to produce a web presence that reflects students aspirations and skills as emerging professional photographers.

Assessment:	three practical assignments (75%); folio of digital images (25%).
Special Assessment Requirements:	In order to establish the authenticity of work submitted for assessment, attendance at practical classes is compulsory. Rolls are kept and work submitted by students with an attendance of less than 80% will not be eligible for assessment unless prior approval has been obtained in writing from the lecturer.
