Students completing this subject will explore photographic theory and practice in the following broad applied areas of photography: Fashion: History and development of fashion photography. Contemporary themes and issues in fashion photography. Working with and direction of models, location and studio lighting, choice of locations and props, hair and make-up, choice and use of clothing and accessories, techniques for posing.

    Assessment:tutorial attendance and participation (10%); two practical assignments (60%); folio of photographs (20%) (80%); journal detailing folio conception and progress (10%) (10%).
    Special Assessment Requirements:In order to establish the authenticity of work submitted for assessment, attendance at practical classes is compulsory. Rolls are kept and work submitted by students with an attendance of less than 80% will not be eligible for assessment unless prior approval has been obtained in writing from the lecturer.
