Available only to level 3 nursing science students.
This subject is designed to allow nursing students to explore specialty areas of nursing. The two specialty areas include mental health nursing and family health. Students are expected to develop their assessment and planning skills and learn new techniques to implement nursing care for clients.
Learning Outcomes
- demonstrate an understanding of normal physiological and psychosocial needs of a family with a new infant;
- discuss and institute appropriate nursing interventions for clients with mental health problems;
- utilise the most appropriate nursing care for clients within the specialty areas of family health.
