This subject offers a framework for students to develop insight in relation to their own self-concept(s), particularly those conceptions relevant to issues of identity within and surrounding the work sphere. Important topics include the social constructions of 'work and occupation', 'the self' and 'the emotions'; integrating reason and intuition, personal character and the new capitalism; issues of inclusion and exclusion in diverse working groups (eg gender, culture and occupational perspectives and issues of work/life balance).
