JN3300 - Journalism Internship

Students are invited to apply for admission to JN3300 as internships become available. Applications are assessed either on the basis of performance in one or more appropriate preparatory subjects or on criteria developed by the Internship co-ordinator and approved by the Head of School.

Students work in the newsroom of a news media organisation for a specified period, undertaking professional activities as assigned to them by their newsroom supervisor. Students observe and analyse the operation of the newsroom, and produce news that may be published or broadcast by the organisation. The newsroom supervisor will provide a written assessment of the student's newsroom performance. Students provide a written report on their observations and analysis at the end of the internship.
