This subject provides advanced training in radio news and current affairs. Interviewing techniques, scripting, sound gathering and technical skills are honed to a professional level, and considerable emphasis is placed on developing a "broadcast voice" through advanced voice training. Students are expected to produce professional standard content for a real radio news and current affairs programme, and may be offered the opportunity to present live to air.
