An introduction to digital illustration theory and practice. Emphasis is placed on refining conceptual and creative proficiency in conjunction with technical skills relative to studio and commercial practice. Design activities include production of storyboards, visuals and presentation visuals. Areas covered include pricing, suppliers, bureaus and Internet service providers. Design, artwork and production methods are examined. Students will develop a basic understanding of digital application and technologies thus extending their foundation level of core illustration and graphics related activities.

    Assessment:tutorial attendance and participation (20%); three practical assignments (60%) (60%); visual journal (20%) (20%).
    Special Assessment Requirements:In order to establish the authenticity of work submitted for assessment, attendance at practical classes is compulsory. Rolls are kept and work submitted by students with an attendance of less than 80% will not be eligible for assessment unless prior approval has been obtained in writing from the lecturer.
