This subject covers a range of analytical concepts and techniques particularly applicable to geographical data in the environmental sciences, including point pattern analysis, spatial autocorrelation, interpolation, terrain modelling and visualisation techniques.

Learning Outcomes

• be able to implement complex spatial analyses using a standard GIS tool kit;
• have a sound understanding of a range of important spatial analysis techniques and their environmental applications;
• understand the relative merits of various interpolation and estimation techniques;
• be able to design spatial analyses to support environmental problems.

Prerequisites:	TG2100 OR GE2502 OR EV2502 OR GE5505 OR EV5505 AND EV3502 OR GE3502 OR EV5502 OR GE5502 and an introductory course in statistics or biometry
