This subject introduces students to issues and themes central to selected well-defined historical periods through a study of representative literary texts. Periods from which texts may be chosen include the Elizabethan (1558-1603), the Romantic (c.1789-1840), the Victorian (c.1840-1900), the Modern (1900-1940), and the contemporary; cultures include English, American, Australian and North Queensland.
