Available only to students enrolled in the Master of Teaching.
This subject is part of the developmental curriculum for professional experience within the Master of Teaching program. Students will be allocated a school and attend for 20 to 25 allocated days, completing a range of activities to develop an understanding of the complexities of teachers roles and the changes that occur over the school semester. As a culminating experience, students will plan, teach and evaluate a full-time 3 (three) week block of teaching. In association with this teaching block, students will undertake a research project aimed at analyzing and evaluating their own growth in relation to professional standards.
Learning Outcomes
- plan, teach, evaluate a minimum 3 (three) week continuous full-time equivalent block across all KLAs in primary, and full-time equivalent across both curriculum areas and including junior and senior in secondary contexts;
- to develop collaborative ethical relationships with all partners in the professional context;
- critically assess professional growth and incipient teacher identity.
