This subject views curricula as an integrated dynamic based on the four-core curriculum elements of literacy, numeracy, futures orientation and life skills. The Key Learning Areas of the national curriculum that provide a critical focus for study in this subject are Mathematics, Science, Technology and Health and Physical Education. Students will develop their own theoretical and practical concepts and skills in planning curriculum activities with reference to current curriculum perspectives.
Learning Outcomes
- demonstrate competence to recognise, locate and select appropriate content for use in the development of curriculum activities from the focus KLAs;
- recognise, interpret and critique the diversity of resources that are available for use by students with different needs;
- explore a range of curriculum models that present different perspectives on curriculum development and delivery, including Indigenous perspectives;
- work collaboratively to plan curriculum which references curriculum goals and models.
