Available to students enrolled in Bachelor of Education.
This subject is part of the developmental curriculum for professional experience within the BEd program. In schools and centres relevant to their specialist sector (Early Childhood, Primary or Secondary) students will complete 3 (three) allocated weeks of professional experience 15 days (75 hours). In addition, students will also develop an understanding of the important link between the work of educators and a range of community education services (35 hours community education service).
Learning Outcomes
- demonstrate a commitment to improve language and literacy skills for teaching;
- demonstrate an understanding of learner diversity through the development of a learner profile;
- develop and use an observation schedule to improve management of learning environment;
- plan, manage, teach and evaluate sequences of lessons to achieve negotiated learning outcomes;
- successfully complete a short continuous block of teaching;
- contribute to the provision of an education community service.
