This subject is an introduction to teaching the Arts in primary school which comprises five (5) strands - 2 Visual (Media and Visual Art) and 3 Performing Arts (Dance, Drama, Music). Students will have opportunities to engage in and reflect upon the range of Arts experiences with more in-depth study (for Townsville students) of at least one visual or one performing arts strand. Students will develop skills and methods required to teach or facilitate the Arts in primary school, integrate the Arts with other Key Learning Areas, Early Learning Areas and Foundation Learning Areas, and extend the influence of the arts throughout schools and their communities.
