An introduction to the science, technology and management of groundwater; including aquifer properties, water resource issues in Australia, water resource utilisation and protection, water quality, water pollution and remediation and dryland salinity and waterlogging.

Learning Outcomes

• appreciation of the critical role of groundwater in present day environmental pollution;
• description of the natural hydrologic processes which control the occurrence, movement and distribution of water on the Earth;
• development of a preliminary understanding of the processes effecting groundwater flow, quantity and availability.
