This subject will cover emerging technologies and applications of significance in the convergent multimedia, telecommunications and Internet fields. This may include topics such as advanced WWW technologies, multicasting, voice and data integration, mobile communications, wireless networking and internet access technologies; the actual topics covered will vary over time and will be advised prior to the first week of class. This subject is offered when there is sufficient student interest in a topic and the required resources are available.

- ability to demonstrate an understanding of the principles and practice of the topics covered, at a level appropriate for postgraduate studies, including analysis and design capability.
