This subject introduces emergent thinking about the interfaces between financial and business performance, with a focus on adding value to the business rather than emphasising financial control. The link between strategy, resourcing and change is highlighted, in focusing on the effective use of an organisation's financial and other resources in creating value for organisational stakeholders, with a special focus on customers and shareholders.
Learning Outcomes
- develop an appreciation of the managerial and organisational dimensions of strategic resource management;
- ability to evaluate the role of management accounting technologies in enabling and constraining the strategic management of organisational resources;
- ability to articulate the strategic location of enterprise resource management, and to develop an array of skills which constitute the technologies of contemporary management accounting work;
- develop analytic and evaluative skills, enabling the competent realisation of management accounting work;
- ability to demonstrate a critical appreciation of contemporary strategic resource management literature and practice.
