This subject is an introduction to the accounting information systems including accounting concepts and the application and interpretation of accounting information for decision making. It will focus on the following areas: the preparation understanding of accounting reports; analysis of accounting information and use of accounting information in various business decisions.
Learning Outcomes
- demonstrate a basic understanding of how financial information can be analysed using financial reports;
- demonstrate an understanding of some of the basic principles of business finance;
- demonstrate a basic understanding of how accounting information can be used in decision making;
- demonstrate a general understanding and application of the principles governing the preparation of accounting information.
