Available only to students in the Master of Astronomy degree.
This subject explores the major developments that have occurred in astronomy and astrophysics over the past three thousand years, with particular emphasis on observational data that can be used quantitatively by present-day astronomers to address contemporary research issues. The subject will concentrate on multi-wavelength (radio, X- and Gamma-Ray) astronomy, long-term observational data-sets, observatories, individuals and instrumentation that have made significant advances to the science, and that continue to provide a new perspective on the cosmos.
