Available, at the discretion of the Head of College, to all students with a BVA or equivalent qualification undertaking the BVA Honours (Research) degree. Except with the approval of the Head of School/Associate Dean, all subjects in a chain must be studied in consecutive teaching periods.

Students will write a thesis of at least 10,000 words demonstrating mastery of methodology and research area appropriate to honours level.

• develop critical appraisal and evaluation of current literature in the visual arts;
• further the capacity to work as an independent researcher and artist by following an individual program or research.

Availabilities
As this subject is part of a subject chain, a final standard grade (e.g. P, C) will only be recorded for each subject after successful completion of all parts of the subject chain.
