Available to Bachelor of Visual Arts students.

Students will continue to explore printmaking as an area of specialisation within the visual arts. Emphasis will be on the exploration of one printing process, the consolidation of skills, technical development and expression of a personal vision. Students will gain experience in research and experimentation, the development of ideas and their synthesis and translation into creative outcomes. Students will be taught to apply professional standards of presentation in relation to the visual arts

Learning Outcomes

• to continue to develop skills in creative decision-making and critical inquiry;
• to demonstrate further understanding of safe work practices;
• to further identify, employ and demonstrate proficiency in key competencies necessary to visual arts practice in printmaking;
• to gain a further appreciation of the inherent qualities of process and techniques in the print studio area;
• to explore current practices in contemporary printmaking processes in Fine Art.

Graduate Qualities

• The ability to adapt knowledge to new situations;
• The ability to define and to solve problems in at least one discipline area.

Assessment:	(80%); (20%).
Special Assessment Requirements:	In order to establish the authenticity of work submitted for assessment, attendance at practical classes is compulsory. Rolls are kept and work submitted by students with an attendance of less than 80% will not be eligible for assessment unless prior approval has been obtained in writing from the lecturer.
